While day-dreaming about your next vacation, you should consider the results of a new survey led by data analytics company J.D. Power.

The firm conducted its North American airline satisfaction survey before the virus hit, but the results were released just last week.

Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways topped the satisfaction list for long-haul flights, with Spirit Airlines landing at the bottom of it. Take a look at the released chart:

The company asked 10,100 passengers to rank their experience on each carrier, keeping in mind variables the likes of costs and fees, on-board crew, reservation services, baggage handling, check-in process and boarding.

According to the official press release, "value is a key differentiator for highest-performing airlines." Across the board, passengers signaled the importance of transparency and protection plans when dealing with any airline.

Now in its 16th installment, the ranking will likely look very different next year, following the sweeping changes that have affected the travel industry in reaction to COVID-19. Either way, we can't wait for our next trip.
