Dating is expensive, and given that almost 46 percent of all American adults are single, many are trying to find a better way to meet people without busting the bank. Dating can involve heavy spending on cocktails, dinners, shows . . . all just to find the other person isn't a good match. Personal finance website WalletHub has created a report on the best cities for singles in 2025, just in case you're thinking of traveling or moving to one of them to increase your chances of finding The One.
The study involved looking at 180 American cities through a lens of 35 metrics that demonstrate openness to finding love. These can include factors like the average price of a two person meal or calculating the percentage of people that are single and thus available. Of course, since money is a huge factor, the study looks at the cost of a variety of indoor and outdoor activities you can do on a date, and the typical price of, for instance, a haircut and a fitness club membership to look great for the date.
So, the city that's the most favorable for finding love? It's Atlanta, where a high percentage of residents is single (almost 70 percent) and where there's a ton of things to do: nightclubs, social clubs, restaurants and bars. In second place is Las Vegas with lots of fun nightlife options and a strong affordability factor for dating related activities. The third best city for singles is Seattle, with healthy activities on offer and a "brain pool" with lots of tech workers.
