Fodor's Travel has been recommending places to stay and things to do in destinations around the world for more than 85 years. The 2025 edition of their Fodor’s Finest: The Most Incredible Hotels in the World has been released, and 15 U.S. hotels made the list. These hotels were hand-picked by Fodor’s editors and 750 experts from around the world, and range from budget to bucket-list luxury, proving that an extraordinary hotel doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Because these hotels cover a range of budgets and styles, Fodor’s doesn’t rank them. But you can be sure that of the thousands of hotels around the U.S., these are the best of the best.

Three hotels in New York made the list: The Beekman in NYC, The William Vale in Brooklyn and Urban Cowboy in the Catskills. Two in Utah offer desert getaways, whether you seek a chic, safari-style glamping experience (ULUM Moab) or a refined retreat with plenty of outdoor activities (The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection). Castle Hot Springs in a remote canyon in the Sonoran Desert is a private oasis, while The Global Ambassador in Phoenix offers stylish accommodations and a slew of trendy food and beverage options. The Palmetto in South Carolina is a plush, centrally-located respite in the heart of Charlston’s French Quarter. The Ramble Hotel in Denver made the list for its hip vibe, stylish decor and an outpost of the world-renowned Death & Co.

In Santa Fe, the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi revels in its Southwest aesthetic. Two Washington, D.C. hotels earned accolades: The landmark Willard Intercontinental and the playful, bohemian Yours Truly. Visitors to Texas should look to The Bowie in Fort Worth—with its Western decor, upscale steakhouse and two-step dance classes—or San Antonio’s Hotel Emma, a revamped brewhouse in the hip Pearl District. The Chloe in New Orleans, an intimate hotel in a converted 19th-century mansion Uptown, is a welcome retreat from the buzz of the French Quarter.
