It’s hard not to get bogged down with bad news at the moment: everywhere you look it’s infection rates and lockdown measures. Well, John Krasinski, much like the rest of us, has had enough. The star of ‘The Office’ (the US version) has started his own YouTube show – ‘Some Good News’ – and it’s dedicated entirely to heartwarming good-news stories.
Recorded from his home office, ‘Some Good News’ features Krasinski, suited and (presumably) booted, deliver feelgood stories from around the world in a light-hearted, Ron Burgundy-esque fashion.
To mark the fifteenth anniversary of the US version of ‘The Office’ (feel old yet?), the first instalment of ‘SNG’ includes a guest appearance from Krasinski’s co-star, Steve Carrell. Seeing the two friends reminisce about some of their favourite moments is both hilarious and touching – but it’s the stories from real people that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
Krasinski closes the show with a reminder that ‘no matter how tough life can get, there’s always good in the world’. That’s why this show is exactly what we all need right now.
