Spring in Washington, D.C., isn’t complete without the city’s most breathtaking display of pink and white blooms. While the peak bloom forecast is still under wraps, The National Cherry Blossom Festival dates have been set along with the dates for some of the Festival's most exciting events. The Festival will run from March 20 to April 13, 2025, so mark your calendar for these key dates:
Pink Tie Party—Friday, March 14
D.C.’s pinkest soirée kicks off the festivities in style. This event features a pink carpet, floral-themed cocktails, decadent bites from top local restaurants and an unforgettable night of music and entertainment.
Blossom Tea Party—Friday, March 21
The elegant Blossom Tea Party invites seniors from the D.C. community to celebrate and honor the rich history of Japanese culture.
Opening Ceremony—Saturday, March 22
The official launch of the festival at the historic Warner Theatre features a showcase of performances celebrating the deep cultural ties between Japan and the United States.
Blossom Kite Festival—Saturday, March 29
Witness this joyful outdoor celebration as thousands of kites take to the sky. An incredible lineup of Taiko drummers from across the country will also take the stage at the Sylvan Theatre.
Petalpalooza—Saturday, April 5
A full day of music, art and interactive fun takes over the Capitol Riverfront with vibrant installations, live performances and hands-on activities. The grand finale is a spectacular fireworks display over the Anacostia River.
National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade—Saturday, April 12
The crown jewel of the festival features giant helium balloons, elaborate floats, high-energy performances and more than 3,000 participants bringing the magic of the cherry blossoms to life.
