Can I offer you a taco in these trying times?
We can all send edible bouquets, we can all send flowers, we can all send chocolate—but starting this Sunday, October 4, we can all digitally send tacos to friends via Taco Bell's new Taco Gifter.
The new service allows you to log on or use the brand's existing smartphone app (it'll appear in the "menu" section) and hit a button to send your friend a $2 gift card for tacos. The excuses to send friends Taco Bell? Limitless. The format? Simple.
When you pull up the Taco Gifter you'll have the ability to select an occasion-appropriate gif, then enter your friend's name, add a message and check out. You'll receive a unique URL, which you can then text or email to your pal, and they can use their virtual $2 on any item, but hot tip: Crunchy tacos will get their own special seasonal gift wrap to celebrate.
The program's launch corresponds with National Taco Day—when they'll be giving away the first 10,000 Taco Gifter presents in its honor—but thankfully Taco Gifter is set to stick around. (Because again, there is no limit to reasons for sending friends tacos.)
"For years, Taco Bell has been a part of our fans' milestone moments—from proposals and weddings to graduations and proms—and we're excited to introduce a fun and convenient service to help celebrate any occasion in between," Nikki Lawson, chief global brand officer, says in the official news release. "As we continue to innovate and identify new ways to deliver engaging brand experiences with consumers, our focus on our digital infrastructure has allowed us to surprise and delight fans with unexpected offerings. We're excited to keep exceeding expectations."
Catch a glimpse of the new service in the promo video, below, then get those taco-giftin' fingers ready to hit send starting this Sunday.
