Coffee shops aren’t just places to grab your caffeine fix anymore. Thanks to the concept of the "third place"—a cozy middle ground between work and home—they’ve become essential social hubs in American life. But not all cafés are created equal when it comes to aesthetic appeal. So, where do you go for that perfect shot of a latte art masterpiece or a chic interior backdrop? Global print-on-demand company Printful did the work, analyzing Instagram hashtag volume for hundreds of coffee shops across the U.S. and Canada to find the most Instagram-worthy spots, where the vibes (and the hashtag counts) are off the charts.

At number one is Café du Monde. This iconic New Orleans institution is world-famous for its powdered-sugar-covered beignets and chicory coffee. It’s no surprise that with its vintage charm and French Quarter location, Café Du Monde has racked up more than 300,000 Instagram hashtags. Whether you’re snapping the perfectly plated beignets or the bustling outdoor seating under signature green-and-white awnings, this café is the spot for capturing an authentic New Orleans moment.

You’ve probably seen Alfred Coffee in your feed already—maybe with its cheeky slogan, “But first, coffee,” prominently displayed. With multiple locations in L.A., Alfred’s combines trendy minimalist decor, vintage vibes and quirky neon signs that beg to be photographed. Every location feels like a curated Instagram backdrop, which has made Alfred Coffee a must-visit for locals and tourists alike.

Rounding out the top three is Arkansas’ Onyx Coffee Lab, a café that’s as innovative as it is photogenic. Known for its creative coffee offerings (how about a coffee advent calendar?) and cutting-edge roasting techniques, Onyx blends high-end branding with cozy yet modern interiors. Its sleek aesthetic and distinct vibe have made it a social media darling in Arkansas, proving that you don’t need to be in a major city to win on Instagram.
