Make more quarantine-perfect cocktails with these easy recipes from expert bartenders.
The Barefoot Contessa and life inspiration that is Ina Garten just reminded us of a universal truth we'll never forget again: "It’s always cocktail hour in a crisis!"
The celebrity chef and James Beard Award winner took to Instagram today and showed us how to really do it, and by "it," we mean make enough cosmopolitan to transcend our bodies, or at least feel that way for, oh, at least a day of quarantine.
Of course you won't need an industrial-size martini glass or a full bottle of Grey Goose to do the trick, but if you want to ride this out like Ina—and don't we all want to ride this out like Ina?—we recommend grabbing the largest vessel you can find, mixing your drink and pouring it directly down your throat. You could always do things more simply, though, à la the Contessa's recipe, found here.
Garten's been a light far beyond cocktails in a crisis, giving us quarantine tips on how to arrange and stock your freezer and how to clean out your fridge with a frittata, but let's be honest: This cosmo is what we need ASAP. Now if only we had a Jeffrey to make us coffee to chase it with.
