Prince William stared longingly into a KFC and the internet stared back

Prince William oversees a number of charitable causes as the Duke of Cambridge, but this week he also oversaw Kentucky Fried Chicken—quite literally. The famous royal got distracted while walking in London and peered into a KFC, transfixed by diners eating chicken near the window. Naturally a few cameras caught him, and naturally, the internet went wild.

Of course the best trolling of all came from none other than the U.K. and Ireland branch of KFC itself:

"William whispered quietly to himself; 'Oh, I just can’t wait to be wing,'" the account said, before adding, "I’m sad I didn’t call him His Royal Thighness in the main tweet tbh" in a subsequent tweet.

Of course the jokes continued across the internet, from country to country, truly making this the gaze seen 'round the world.
