President-elect Joe Biden's German shepherd Major Biden is getting the presidential treatment this weekend. The Delaware Humane Association (DHA), the shelter where Biden got him from, is hosting a virtual "indoguration" on Sunday to celebrate the first shelter dog to take up residence in the White House.
Hosted by Jill Martin of the Today show and featuring an appearance by Sir Darius Brown—the teenage mind behind bow-time company Beaux and Paws—the virtual event will also serve as a fundraiser to help other DHA shelter animals.
You can RSVP for the festivities right here. Anyone can claim a spot as long as they donate $10 or more to the cause.
But Major isn't the only pet moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: Champ, also a German Shepherd, is the Bidens' other dog.
Fun fact: according to the Presidential Pet Museum, Donald Trump was the first President without a pet in the White House since Andrew Johnson's presidency in the 1860s—making Major's and Champ's move-in that much more exciting.
Once the dog-related festivities come to a close, you'll likely turn your attention to Joe Biden's own inauguration on January 20—which will also be held mostly online. Expect Lady Gaga to sing the National Anthem and Jennifer Lopez to perform as well while actor Tom Hanks has been chosen to host a 90-minute inauguration special across multiple TV networks titled Celebrating America.
Get those screens ready, people.
