Looking for the cheapest flight from your local airport? A new study from CashNetUSA has crunched the numbers to help you find the best deals on domestic travel. They analyzed flights from every major U.S. airport, ranking airlines by cost to reveal the cheapest and priciest options at each hub. And with their new interactive tool, you can easily compare airline fares specific to your location.

CashNetUSA’s team analyzed one-way economy fares with no more than one stop. They calculated the average cost per mile for each airline at every airport and then ranked them by affordability. Some findings might surprise you while others are par for the course.

For New Yorkers, Alaska Airlines offers the cheapest flights, averaging $0.09 per mile. If you’re flying out of California, Horizon Air tops the list of most expensive airlines, charging an average of $1.20 per mile. Frontier wins the title of cheapest airline in 15 states, though their extra fees can add up fast. Meanwhile, United Airlines takes the crown for the priciest flights in a whopping 38 states. In fact, flying United out of New Hampshire is the most expensive domestic flight in the country at $1.44 per mile.

The study reveals some interesting facts, but their new interactive tool will be the most insightful. Just enter your local airport to see which airline will give you the most bang for your buck. Toggle between cheapest and most expensive, sort the data, or search for your preferred airport to get a quick, personalized snapshot.

Of course, snagging a low base fare is only half the battle—extra fees can quickly inflate your final cost. The best strategy? Plan ahead, compare wisely and book at just the right time to keep your travel budget in check.
