Nothing sops up a hangover quite like a pile of pancakes, and on Sunday, December 19, McDonald's will do the cooking. Heck, they'll even pick up the bill.

It's all part of the fast food chain's weeks-long holiday giveaway, which spotlights a new menu item daily. So, how do you get your free McDonald's hotcakes on Sunday? You'll have to download and place your order through the McDonald's app and make a purchase of $1 or more. Do it on the cheap when you buy a coffee or a breakfast side, like a sausage patty or hash browns.

If it's been a while since you've visited McDonald's, it's important to note that the chain temporarily paused its all-day breakfast menu back in March, which means you can't roll through the drive-thru at 2pm asking for a McGriddle. These days, most locations cut off weekend breakfast service at 10:59am.

If the syrupy-sweet hotcakes don't do it for you or you can't make it McDonald's on Sunday, December 19, there are four more days of freebies you can check out, including gratis McFlurries on Tuesday. Take a look at the remaining holiday giveaways below:

  • Monday, December 21: Free hot or iced coffee
  • Tuesday, December 22: Free McFlurry
  • Wednesday, December 23: Free bakery item
  • Thursday, December 24: Free 2- or 3-pack chocolate chip cookies
