You know what they say: not all superheroes wear capes. No statement rings truer these days, as doctors, nurses, EMTs, delivery drivers and essential employees work around the clock to help us stay safe and sane during the current crisis.

Toy company Mattel is honoring these everyday heroes with a new set of collectible action figures. The series, dubbed #ThankYouHeroes, includes 16 action figures: four nurses, four EMTs, four doctors and four delivery drivers ranging in gender and race, plus a five-piece set of Little People Community Champions that feature the same quartet of heroes in addition to a grocery store worker.

Starting this week through May 31, you can pre-order the toys on the company's website. A total of $15 from each online purchase will be donated to the Entertainment Industry Foundation, specifically supporting #FirstRespondersFirst, which is a fund dedicated to providing frontline workers and their families with essential items.

Mattel announced that it expects to ship all orders by December 31.

"#ThankYouHeroes is designed to immortalize and honor healthcare and every day heroes, and to drive additional donations to support first responders," said Chuck Scothon, senior vice president of Fisher-Price and global head of infant and preschool for Mattel, in an official online statement.

According to the official press release, this is just one of several launches planned and "designed to support today's heroes." Which means we should expect more exciting releases in the weeks to come. May we suggest honoring our favorite liquor stores' employees next?
