Pizza to the Polls is back: the non-partisan organization, established back in 2016, is once again working to send free hot pizza pies to crowded voting stations all across the country.

Scott Duncombe, Noah Manger and Katie Harlow came up with the idea for the organization during the last election, when they noticed that folks had to wait hours upon hours to vote.

The concept is a pretty straightforward one: would-be voters should head to the organization's website to report a long line and Pizza to the Polls will then use donated money to deliver the food from a local pizzeria.

According to the official website, as of right now, the organization has raised $489,071, a number that has allowed them to deliver 9,800 pies to 544 different polling places across 35 states. That's huge, especially considering that, given COVID-19, the company has had to temporarily stop its operations.

At the beginning of October, though, Pizza to the Polls came back with a bang: not only have they been going through pizza delivery requests, but they've deployed over 185 food trucks across 25 cities to provide some more fare to people waiting in line to vote. Folks in Detroit, Los Angeles, Houston, Tampa and more have noticed the trucks around polling stations.

"[The] new food truck program is a response to record voting interest amid a pandemic causing many in-person voting locations to see longer wait times," the organization send in an official press release. "Poll worker shortages may limit the number of polling places and social distancing measures are extending lines and limiting the number of people who can vote at one time."

Haven't voted yet? Use Google Maps to figure out when, where and how to properly cast your vote—and make sure to head to the polls with an empty stomach: a hot pizza pie may be on the way.
