Forget the peanuts and Cracker Jack. This World Series, we want free tacos.
Depending on where you live, you may or may not be rooting for the home team in 2020's MLB World Series, but one thing's for sure: Thanks to Taco Bell, no matter who's playing, you might be able to snag a free taco—making all of us the real winners.
The Bell is bringing back the beloved "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" program for its ninth year, giving out a free Doritos Locos Taco the first time a base gets stolen at any point in the World Series.
Here's how it works: If a base is stolen, Taco Bell locations across the nation will hand out a Doritos Locos Taco to anyone who asks in-store on October 28. Can't wait that long? Anyone who downloads the Taco Bell app will be able to claim theirs within hours of the game's steal—for the first time ever.
"Through a season and a year like no other, we are proud to bring back a promotion that fans can always count on and are thrilled to partner with the league again to provide free tacos for all of America—no matter what team you root for," Taco Bell chief global brand officer Nikki Lawson says in the news release.
Just be sure to download the app and sign up for the rewards program by 5pm PST tomorrow, October 20.
Considering the Washington Nationals' Trea Turner stole a base in the first game of last year's World Series, we could be claiming a free taco as soon as tomorrow night when the L.A. Dodgers face off against the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020's Game 1.
