Earlier today, we reported on upcoming quarantine-free Delta flights from the U.S. to Italy. If, some strange reason, the European destination just doesn't strike your fancy, you'll be delighted to know that, in an effort to encourage travel, Costa Rica is offering 15 free seven-day trips for two to the country next year.
RECOMMENDED: Quarantine-free flights between the U.S. and Italy are almost upon us
The campaign, which is carried forward by the country's tourism agency, Visit Costa Rica, is officially dubbed "Who is Essential to You" and it is open to folks living all across the United States. Unfortunately, you can't nominate yourself. The idea is for you to submit the name of "a person along with a brief short essay sharing the reason that person is 'essential to you,'" according to the contest's official rules.
You've got until January 31, 2021 at 11:59pm EST to submit your nominations. The 15 selected winners have until February 28 of 2022 to actually enjoy the prize, which includes two roundtrip coach airfare tickets to Costa Rica, a six-night hotel stay, a $200 meal voucher, ground transportation and travel insurance that includes any COVID-19-related need.
Here is the official contest entry form. Not that you should need any convincing, but may we remind you of the plenty of fun things that there are to do in Costa Rica at the moment? 'Tis the year to pay it forward.
