Some people ring in the New Year from a club, while others prefer to celebrate in pajamas on the couch. If you're celebrating from home, don't worry about missing out on entertainment because there are plenty of options for specials, concerts, and parties to watch tonight, December 31, to say farewell to 2024 and hello to 2025. Major networks and streamers are hosting 2025 New Year's Eve specials, some of which will take you right to Times Square without braving the crowds or cold weather.

Specials include appearances by comedians and celebrities, plus musical performances. We've even gathered a couple options if you really don't want to see the ball drop, too. Read on for all you need to know about how to stream and watch major 2025 New Year's Eve specials.

Times Square's New Year's Eve Celebration

6pm ET on TimesSquareNYC.org

Watch the ball drop for free using Times Square's free webcast. Jeremy Hassell and Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett will anchor the livestream, which includes the famous ball drop plus performances from talent appearing on the CNN, ABC, and Univision specials which include Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, TLC, Mickey Guyton, and Kapo. Another fun thing about this special? There will be celebration of the city's 400th birthday, and plenty of interviews with revelers gathered in the square.


ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest"

8pm ET on ABC, ABC.go.com, and Hulu + Live TV

The most famous special on the list, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is back for the 53rd year in a row starting tonight at 8pm ET.  Stay entertained until the ball drops with performances from Lenny Kravitz, Laufey, Teddy Swims, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alanis Morisette, Carrie Underwood, and more. Watch the show live on ABC or online at ABC.go.com. CNN's "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen"

8pm ET on CNN and HBO Max

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are back for the eighth year to ring in the New Year from Time's Square. Expect the bubbly besties to sip lots of booze (Cohen recently promised to take a tequila shot every hour during the show) and chat with both comedians and performers on this broadcast, which airs at live 8pm ET on CNN and HBO Max.

Special guests include Shania Twain, 50 Cent, Patti Labelle, Whitney Cummings, and Lil John. NBC's "A Toast to 2024!" with Hota Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager

9-11pm ET on NBC and Peacock

Catch TODAY co-host Hoda Kotb's final New Year's Eve celebration alongside co-host Jenna Bush Hager. They'll look back on notable moments from the year and welcome special guests that include Snoop Dogg, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Bublé, Reba McIntire. Peacock's "Back that Year Up: NYE Special"

Comedians Kevin Hart and Keenan Thompson bring this laughs during this special, which is a retrospective of all the best moments in sports and pop culture. Watch out for appearances by Mookie Betts, Kenny G, Jon Hamm, Blake Griffin, and more. Stream it live on Peacock now. 

CBS' "New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash"

7:30-10pm ET on CBS and Paramount+

If you're a fan of country music, this is the New Year's special for you. "New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash," which will include live bits and performances from both Nashville and New York, features tons of performances from some of country's biggest names. Those who will take the stage include Miranda Lambert, Shaboozey, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Post Malone, Luke Bryan, and more. Watch live on CBS and stream via Paramount+.

PBS' "Sarah Bareilles: New Year's Eve with the National Symphony Orchestra & Friends"

8pm ET on PBS and PBS app

If your ideal 2025 New Year's Eve special doesn't include Times Square and looks more like a relaxing night of soothing music, tune into PBS. Grammy winning singer and Waitress composer Sara Bareilles takes to The Kennedy Center stage to belt her hits. Special guests include other talented vocalists like Hamilton Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, and more. TCM's "New Year's Eve with Turner Classic Movies Hosts"

8pm ET on TCM

Movies are always a great way to celebrate the holidays, so why not extend the fun to welcome the new year? This low-key affair includes features all five of Turner Classic Movies' hosts—Ben Mankiewicz, Dave Karger, Jacqueline Stewart, Eddie Muller, and Alicia Malone—guiding viewers through their favorite movies that include a New Year's Eve party scene. The lineup kicks off with The Apartment (1960) and includes Trading Places (1983), Bundle of Joy (1956), Repeat Performance (1947), and finishes with Sunset Boulevard (1950).
