McDonald’s just dropped a major comeback announcement: joining the McRib on McDonald’s menus will be another fan favorite that's been MIA. After years of clamoring from devoted followers, the beloved Snack Wrap is set to make its triumphant return in 2025.

The announcement came on December 5, when Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, spilled the beans on Good Morning America. The OG Snack Wrap—featuring crispy or grilled chicken, shredded lettuce and cheese wrapped in a soft tortilla with a choice of ranch or honey mustard—has been sorely missed since its discontinuation nearly a decade ago. Here’s what we know about the return of the Snack Wrap.

When was the last time McDonald’s had Snack Wraps?

The Snack Wrap originally debuted in 2006, quickly gaining a cult following. By 2016, however, the item had disappeared from most menus around the country. But fans weren’t about to let go quietly. Over the years, petitions flooded in, with one gathering more than 18,800 signatures.

Why did McDonald’s get rid of the Snack Wrap?

Despite its popularity, it fell victim to slow kitchen prep times and disappointing sales. Franchisees weren’t thrilled about the extra steps required to steam tortillas and assemble the wraps.

Which other countries have Snack Wraps?

McDonald’s restaurants in the U.K. and Canada continued to offer Snack Wraps with variations like spicy veggie, BBQ chicken and Caesar bacon wraps.

When will the Snack Wrap return?

McDonald’s took to X to tease fans with a cryptic post: “Snack wraps xx.xx.2025.” No exact date yet, but that’s enough to have Snack Wrap enthusiasts marking their calendars and counting the days.
