We might not be able to freely travel to Egypt at the moment but—worry not!—Egypt can sort of come to us.

Ramses and the Pharaoh's Gold is a new traveling exhibition of Egyptian treasures set to land in the United States in November 2021 and run through January 2025, according to a recent announcement by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

A similar show had previously taken up residence at the Völklinger Ironworks cultural centre in Völklingen, Germany—but this iteration of the happening promises to be larger in scope and scale.

A of now, no exact dates or ticket information have yet been released, but we know that the show will kick off state-side—first at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Texas, then heading to the De Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco, California and finally setting up shop in Massachusetts, specifically at Boston's The Saunders Castle at Park Plaza. After its American tour, the treasure will head to Europe.

Expect to peruse through items that are more than 3,200 years old, formerly belonging to ancient Egyptian royal dynasties. According to Albawaba, "among the 170 archaeological collections in the collection is the statue of Khafre, from the Old Kingdom, which is the oldest known statue of the king made of pure gold."

Given the lack of artistic pursuits that defined our 2020, we can't help but be super excited about this new show. Can you blame us?
