Everything is up in the air at the moment: will school open this fall? Will we ever be able to properly dine inside of a restaurant again? When will air travel as we know it resume?

In the midst of all these unknowns, it's nice to have a bit of certainty, which is what we're here to provide. Although television schedules have yet to be confirmed as production on many shows has been halted, there are a few programs that have already been announced. These shows run the gamut in genre and in terms of the networks they will premiere on. Some of them have also yet to settle on an exact premiere date.

That being said, here are nine new shows that we're excited about catching on our small screens this fall. Will you join our (virtual) viewing parties?

Ratchet
Network: Netflix
Premiere date: September 18, 2020

One of the most anticipated new shows of the season, Ryan Murphy's Ratchet tells the origin story of Nurse Ratchet (played by Sarah Paulson), the iconic character in Ken Kesey's famous 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Filthy Rich
Network: Fox
Premiere date: September 21, 2020

This satire is an adaptation of the eponymous New Zealand series and stars Sex and the City champion Kim Cattrall as Margaret Monreaux, co-founder of the fictional Sunshine Network, a Christian TV network. In the series, Cattrall's character and the rest of her family have to deal with the repercussions of her husband's death and infidelity.

*Cosmos: Possible Worlds
Network: Fox
Premiere date: September 22, 2020

This documentary series premiered on National Geographic back in March as a follow-up to 2014's Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. This will be the show's broadcast television premiere. Hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, it explores "a series of spiritual voyages of exploration" diving into "previously uncharted realms, including lost worlds, worlds yet to come and the worlds that humans may one day inhabit."

Network: Fox
Premiere date: October 6, 2020

John Slattery is Paul LeBlanc in this science fiction drama that focuses on "a rogue AI with the ability to constantly improve itself," which sounds pretty plausible and incredibly terrifying in this day and age.

The Equalizer
Network: CBS
Premiere date: TBA

Created by and starring Queen Latifah, the crime drama is a reimagining of the 1980s eponymous series about a divorced single mother who fights for justice, acting as a "vigilante" and helping those in need. The show also stars Chris Noth and Lorraine Toussaint, among others.

Big Sky
Network: ABC
Premiere date: TBA

We're partial to anything created by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies! Ally McBeal! Chicago Hope!) and this procedural drama based on the 2013 book The Highway is no exception. The story focuses on two ex-cops investigating the abduction of two sisters in Montana, a case that unlocks a slew of others still left unresolved.

Devils
Network: CW
Premiere date: TBA

This Italian series starring our very own Patrick Dempsey originally premiered in Europe in April, but is now poised to hit American screens. Given that it was renewed for a second season ahead of its initial airing, we're expecting great things. In terms of plot, you're looking at a European financial crisis coupled with a sexual scandal and loads of "hacktivists." A recipe for binge-watching success, if you ask us.

B Positive
Network: CBS
Premiere date: TBA

Standing out amid a roster of pretty heavy shows, B Positive is a sitcom that stars Thomas Middleditch of Silicon Valley fame as a therapist and newly divorced dad who needs a kidney donor with a—duh—b positive blood type. The king of American sitcoms, Chuck Lorre co-writes and co-produces the multi-camera series.

Call Your Mother
Network: ABC
Premiere date: TBA

Kyra Sedgwick is Jean Raines, an empty nester who decides to move across the country to be closer to her kids in this hilarious new sitcom.
