America's craft beer revolution will go down in the pages of history—so long as the Smithsonian Institution has anything to say about it.

The museum's Food History project is looking for a scholar to spend the next three years conducting "archival and field research" on the American craft beer industry. The gig pays $65,000 per year (plus benefits), which sounds pretty amazing considering that a bulk of the job consists of traveling around the country learning about the history of beer while drinking copious amounts of it.

But don't go quitting your job in a hurry; the role of patriotic suds guzzler is about a lot more than discerning between an IPA and a stout. The Smithsonian is looking for candidates with an advanced degree in American business, brewing, food, culture and the history therein. They need someone who can create content and exhibitions surrounding, well, beer, which isn't as easy as it sounds.

The deadline for applications is August 10, so grab a six pack and start working on your cover letter. The job will be hotly contested, but whoever gets it will likely be the luckiest person in America.
