Some people go on vacation to sightsee, others for delicious eats, but nothing matters more than looking fly as hell in pictures (kidding... sort of), which is why it's important to know where to shop. To help you make memories, look your best and get some precious social media affirmation, Expedia released a list of the top 25 best shopping cities in the world.
New York City ranks number one, which is not entirely surprising. The website attributes the ranking to "limitless shopping options." Berlin ranks second for its "quirky, niche shops and decadent department stores," and Los Angeles takes the number three spot.
Expedia based its rankings on three factors—number of visitors, value of goods and city friendliness. So if you're shaking your head thinking "Where is Paris?" or "Where is Milan?" the answer (besides 9th and 15th, respectively) is right there in the methodology. The fashion capitals were both knocked in the "value" category with Milan scoring a 4 out of 10 and Paris a measly 2 out of 10.
London and Kuala Lumpur round out the list's top five. The later scored high on value considering a pair of jeans is a lot less expensive in Malaysia than its European and American competitors. The only other city in the U.S. to crack the top 25 is San Francisco, which ranks at lucky number 13.
