Find the nearest body of (very, very, very cool) water immediately: A heat wave is scheduled to sweep the country form the Midwest to East starting right about now.
Coming off an incredibly hot Sunday, people around the country should expect similar temperatures to linger until Wednesday.
"Tuesday will be the worst in New York, where temperatures will reach the mid-90s and humidity will peak as well," AccuWeather meteorologist Evan Duffey told USA Today. "Some of the records there are ancient, but it will be close for the next few days." Chicago will similarly hit highs of up to 95 degrees today and an even warmer 97 degrees tomorrow.
Our suggestion? Break out the shorts, take some time off work and get ready to spend the next few days at the best water parks in the USA. Happy (almost) summer!
P.S.: The weekend's weirdest weather-related news comes courtesy of the upper Midwest as thousands of people in Wisconsin and Minnesota had to deal with a hailstorm that brought along loss of power and the need for snowplows. Weird indeed.
