Accommodating up to 10 guests across five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, alongside its fully-equipped contemporary kitchen, it's the pinnacle of UK staycation elegance. Plus, it's a haven for remote workers thanks to its lightning-fast Wi-Fi – although we doubt you'll be working much while soaking up this opulent atmosphere.

The Airbnb sleeps four people in two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. There's a kitchen with all the equipment you'll need on your stay and a dining area inside and outside for your pick of cosy dinners or al fresco dining. 5. The classic bothy in Hampshire

This bright and light cottage in Hampshire might only be a mile or so from the sea, but there’s one good reason to stay put. Decked out in cool white hues, with soft furnishings and crisp linens, this Airbnb is oozing beachy vibes from top to bottom. Most of the rooms open out onto a private pool, which is heated even in the summer months, so you’ve got zero excuses not to jump in at the deep end.

Location perks? Enjoy walks in the new forest before making a pub lunch pit stop.

6. The country mansion in Cumbria

This place rocks the kind of mud-splattered sophistication that England has been selling its reputation on for centuries. Set within the truly stunning Cumbrian countryside, this manor house has nine bedrooms, plus three more in the adjacent Dairy Cottage. We’ve got our eye on that seriously brilliant wooden bed made of antique planks, plus those wonderful carved fireplaces and beams. The pool isn’t onsite – it’s nearby on Home Farm Courtyard – but guests are invited to prebook private slots so it will always have that personal feel. None of that sharing a lane with slow swimmers business.

The wonders of the Lake District are at your service.

7. The Piggery in Essex

The Piggery (it’s prettier than the name suggests, trust us) is located in the 12-acre grounds of a manor house that once belonged to a very famous TV chef, who also filmed here (we’ll leave you to guest who). This ‘other building’ has been extremely tastefully converted into a minimalistic family home with all the rustic trimmings. Stay here and you’ll not only be able to luxuriate in the outdoor pool, you can also use the tennis court, al fresco pizza ovens and eat produce fresh from the walled kitchen gardens. This really is the life.

Rooms? Two bedrooms. Sleeps six guests.
The mood?
An Essex idyll with waterside views.
Location perks?
Just a short drive to the boutiques and indie cafes of Saffron Walden.
Budget range?
We’d be pretty chuffed with this price, esp for a group of six.

8. Modern magnificence in Dorset

When Thomas Hardy wrote about life in dear of Dorset, he probably didn’t have something like this in mind. Forget rural idyls, this place is pure decadence dressed up to the nines. The grounds – where the pool is – are all manicured, primped and premed in a manner that echoes the French partier style. Indoors, things are similarly swish, with acres of space, lots of light and a particularly nice large-scale living space to steal the show.

Rooms? Eight bedrooms. Sleeps 16+ guests.
The mood? Just me, you and a tray of mimosas for breakfast.
Location perks? Explore the lovely stretch of coast between sandbanks and Bournemouth.
Budget range? Well, it’s not super cheap…

This quirky Airbnb is the brainchild of Hungarian artist-architect Andras Kaldor and owner Richard Johnston. From the colourful exterior to the eclectic furnishings, Fingals Folly is bursting with character. While its luxuries mean it's on the more expensive side, it's the kind of place you can justify splurging on for a special occasion. Alongside the pool, you've got a kitted-out gym and outdoor tennis court, plus luxuries like extravagant artwork in the perfectly manicured gardens. Yeah, you probably won't want to leave.

Rooms? One bedroom. Sleeps two guests.
The mood? Nautical wonderland.
Location perks? You can explore the charming town of Dittisham, or get the ferry to Dartmouth.
Budget range? A high-end couple's stay.

10. The romantic cabin in Hertfordshire

Ever had those Lady Chatterley-type gamekeeper fantasies? No, us neither – and we’ve absolutely no idea why we reached for that reference point. Ahem... anyway… *straightens skirt and coughs loudly* we’re just saying that this place has a kind of upmarket gamekeeper lodge vibe to it. Low wooden ceilings, a roaring fireplace, a slightly rumpled-looking bed… and a taxidermy fox in one corner. It’s set within a much bigger estate with a pretty little river running through it. Guests can use the outdoor pool and billiards room, plus there’s the option of arranging additional access with the hosts to an indoor hydro pool and sauna. Just need to invite Mellors...

Rooms? One bedroom. Sleeps two guests.
The mood?
To the modern manor born.
Location perks?
Being just north of Watford makes travel from London an absolute doddle.

Keep your eyes peeled for when they offer discounts!

Transport yourself from the British coast to Pacific-inspired bliss, just ignore any weather forecasts of rain. Each room is uniquely decorated and gives off a very wholesome and comforting vibe to the Airbnb. Think of it as your home away from home. But with 24 people and a pool.

Rooms? 10 bedrooms. Sleeps 16+ guests.
The mood? Ibiza vibes.

This gated property is a total haven. With six cozy bedrooms, eight beds, and not one but two living rooms and kitchens, it’s perfect for a staycation with up to 14 adults or even 16 with the kiddos in tow.
