Events to stream

Is it a vintage shop? Is it a gig space? Actually, it’s both. This central Hackney space is loved by locals for its eclectic combo of well-priced vintage threads downstairs and a stage up top playing host to musicians, DJs, and – you guessed it – yoga classes. Right now, they’re streaming daily sessions that span Yin, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, meditation and more.
Daily, see website for timetable. From £5.

There’s nothing like a little Lindy Hop to lift your spirits. And if you don’t know what that even means, then no worries: you can do a beginner’s class with London and Brighton-based dance school Swing Patrol online. Don’t worry if you don’t have a dance partner at home – there are also four-week solo classes available.
Many classes available, see website for details. Prices vary.

Fly LDN is loved by members for its approachable, no-nonsense approach to staying fit; and they’ve maintained that same vibe throughout lockdown. Check out their hour-long classes on Instagram, which range from Barre, to dynamic ‘Flowlife’ yoga to slow, chilled-out sessions that release stress. And breathe...
Daily 8am, 12.30pm and 5.45pm. Free.

Going to the gym is out of the question, but who needs a treadmill when you’ve got one of London’s star drag queens leading you through an ’80s-tastic aerobics session? It’s a whole lot more fun than a spin class and you’ll feel all the better for prising yourself off your sofa and getting active. She’ll be live-streaming classes from her living room every Wednesday at 7.30pm on Instagram and Facebook Live.
Wednesdays, 7.30pm. Free, but donations via PayPal welcome.

If you’re a Leeds native, then maybe you’ve heard of Clubbercise: a workout designed to have you sweating up a storm while you rave to bangers from the ’90s until now. Usually, instructor Claire’s room is lit in UV to make the ravers glow; but if you don’t have those lights to hand at home, some glow sticks will do nicely.
Mondays 7pm, Tuesdays 6.30pm, Thursdays 7pm. £2.

When you’re at a dance party this good, you won’t even notice you’re also getting great exercise. And, you might even find that Queer House Party – run by resident DJs Harry Gay, Wacha and Passer – is the best bash you’ve been to for a long while. Coming at you via Zoom, QHP will be slinging throwback pop, house bangers and more. Lights down, volume up, people.
Fridays, 9pm. Donations encouraged.

London non-profit organisation The Mindfulness Project has been bringing peace and calm to stressed-out Londoners for several years now. Right now, you can enrol in its online mindfulness courses; but it’s also running free drop-in meditation sessions at 6pm every day. Run by pro meditation teachers, it’s a chance to connect with others and take a moment to quieten your mind.
Daily, 6pm. Free.

Available all the time

Stretch, twirl and dip your way to a fitter physique with the Royal Academy of Dance. They’ve got an impressive selection of classes available on their site, which range from children’s exercises to ‘Silver Swans’ classes for older folk.
