Hear ye hear ye! We bring news from across the moat. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like living as a royal, this may be your chance to live out those fantasies. King Charles II is apparently giving up the lease on his Welsh estate, Llwynywermod, in hopes of cutting back on the costs of his many residences.
It’s not quite Windsor Castle, but this luxe farmhouse located just outside Bannau Brycheiniog National Park sits on a 192-acre property with beautiful parkland views in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It boasts three cosy cottages with Welsh-inspired interiors, a dining hall with a large eighteenth-century rug and a peaceful courtyard garden featuring a central fountain and six field maples that were used in the 2011 royal wedding.
Llwynywermod was purchased by His Majesty in 2007 for a whopping £1.2 million. His Maj told BBC Radio 4 in 2021 that he had bought it ‘rather 40 years too late, probably’ and that it had been ‘a godsend’.
And now cottages on the estate are available for any of us regular folk to rent. The cottages cost between £550 and £1,200 per week depending on the season, and about £2000 for a longer lease. If you’re interested, you can check out the properties on their official website here.
Did you know that Bob Dylan’s huge mansion in the Scottish Highlands is up for sale?
Plus: you can now buy an old prison warden’s house in Wales... with its own cell.
