We all know that aviation has been through it over the past three years. Airports around the UK essentially came to a standstill as countries closed their borders and introduced strict testing rules during the pandemic.

Cardiff Airport was hit particularly hard. In January, passenger numbers passing through the Welsh capital were down 44 percent compared to pre-pandemic numbers (one airline, Wizz Air, even withdrew all its services to and from the city). But now, in a sign international travel has pretty much returned to normal, the airport is finally reinstating its daily flights to Paris.

From April 21, Air France will offer passengers a handy route between the French and Welsh capitals. Flights will land in Paris-Orly airport, which has easy access to the city centre and Disneyland Paris. Return tickets for the direct journey start from £69.99.

The move is part of the airport’s five-year recovery plan. It aims to expand services to 50 direct destinations by 2026.
