Time to dust off the ol’ cauldron – spooky season is officially upon us. While many of us gear up for a horror film night and some pumpkin carving, some might prefer a more ‘immersive’ Halloween experience, like visiting a real-life haunted house or going on a ghoulish amble through a graveyard.
If you’re in that second camp of people, we reckon we have just the place for you. An old Baptist chapel in Pembrokeshire called the South Dairy Old Chapel has been converted into a spot with all you need for a spooky staycation: a quiet old church, a little away from a remote seaside town. And, obvs, a graveyard.
Yep, that’s right. There is a line of gravestones just before the chapel’s entryway, meaning you might not be the only occupants on the property. Boo!
Don’t worry, it’s not all cobwebs and spiders. Aside from its graveyard, this Grade II-listed chapel has actually been refurbished into a welcoming home. Located near Haverfordwest and just eight miles from the Llys Y Fran Lake, the South Dairy Old Chapel boasts pretty gardens and an open gallery area with original church pews.
The space has retained some of its traditional features in the open-plan living area and sleeps up to six (living, human) guests. To keep you company during your horror film marathon, you can even bring two canine friends to join the ghoulish festivities.
Here are some pics of the chapel grounds.
If this sounds like your ideal frightful feast, check out the staycation listing here.
