The UK has many a stunning train station. But while London St Pancras and Edinburgh Waverley are very pretty, nothing matches the charm of small local village railway stations. Some are so charming, in fact, that you almost wish you could stay the night. Well, rail enthusiasts, we’re about to grant your wishes. Up in Scotland, there’s a former railway station that you can now rent on Airbnb

As the name suggests, Cromdale Station was originally a working train station for the Scottish Highlands village of Cromdale. The line closed back in 1965 and since then the track has become a popular walking route on Speyside Way, one of Scotland’s Great Trails.

The property comprises of a three-bed old railway station house and a two-bed converted railway carriage, known as the ‘camping coach’. The old ticket office has become a kitchen, the waiting room a lounge, the station master’s bedroom the master bedroom and the lamp room a children’s bedroom. It can sleep up to 11 guests in total.

There’s also a tonne of features to ensure that guests can never, ever be bored. You’ve got the art studio with all sorts of craft gear and bits of inspiration to get your creative juices flowing, and then there’s a large games room with a ping pong table, snooker table and table football. Here are a few pics of the place.
