It’s a modern day melodrama; a story of love, loss, and a triumphant comeback against all odds. Wilko has lived more lives than most in the past year and a half, and we’re happy to report that the good news just keeps on coming.

Let’s get you up to speed. Last September, low-cost retailer Wilko announced that it was going into administration, and would be forced to shut all 400 of its stores across the country. People were pretty upset about this announcement, but alas there was nothing that could be done. The last stores closed their doors on October 8, 2023, and so we said goodbye to a British institution.

Or so we thought. In an unexpected turn, earlier this year the chain revealed that it was BACK. Having been bought out by the Range, Wilko has been gradually making a return to our high streets, bit by bit. So far only a few have opened back up, but more are on their way.

But you don’t want to wait. We get it. You need your Wilko fix asap – which brings us to now. Wilko has partnered with Deliveroo so that you can get all the home and garden goods that your heart desires delivered straight to your doorstep in minutes. The service will be available at 10 locations from this month including Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Eccles, Manchester, Bedford, Harlow, Plymouth and Leeds. Don’t worry if you’re not in one of the chosen places, there are plans to expand to 50 more before 2024 is over.

More than 3,000 products will be available to order, sort of like Argos but with the sitting around cut out. Even Deliveroo is excited about this partnership, saying: ‘It’s fantastic to welcome family favourite Wilko onto Deliveroo… Our customers really value the convenience of having the high street brought to their doorstep, and that’s why we’re excited to continue these partnerships with well-loved retailers.’

According to them, the wait time between ordering and receiving the goods could be as little as 25 minutes. What more could a Wilko lover ask for?
