It’s time to head back to the picturesque seaside town of Shipton Abbott for more murder and mysteries as Beyond Paradise returns for a third outing.
The Death in Paradise spinoff has become a fan-favourite in its own right, swapping Caribbean islands for the idyllic British coast, but keeping all of the mystery and mayhem.
Here’s all you need to know about Beyond Paradise: when it airs, who’s in it, and where it’s filmed.

When is Beyond Paradise season 3 released?
The third series of Beyond Paradise lands on BBC iPlayer and BBC One from Friday, 28 March at 8pm.
For those craving a Friday night of full-on sleuthing, Beyond Paradise will be immediately followed by the latest episode of original series Death in Paradise at 9pm.
Who is in the Beyond Paradise season 3 cast?
Kris Marshall is back as Detective Humphrey Goodman, a cop who has relocated from the exotic climes of Saint-Marie in the Caribbean to the fictional Devon town of Shipton Abbott. Marshall is best known for his role in classic BBC sitcom My Family and, of course, starred in the ultimate Richard Curtis romcom Love Actually.
Sally Bretton plays his fiancée Martha Lloyd. British telly fans will recognise the actress from Not Going Out and Green Wing. Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Bamber swaps starships for starfish as Archie, Martha’s ex-fiancé and business partner.
Zahara Ahmadi (EastEnders) plays Detective Sergeant Esther Williams and Dylan Llewellyn (Big Boys, Derry Girls) takes on the role of Constable Kelby Hartford. And Hugh Dennis is set to guest star, too.

Where is Beyond Paradise filmed?
While murders and mayhem of Beyond Paradise take place in the picturesque fictional coastal town of Shipton Abbott in Devon, most of the series is actually filmed in the picturesque – and real – coastal town Looe, Cornwall.
With a population of just over 5,000 and seaside views, the harbour town made the perfect spot for Shipton Abbot. It’s still a working fishing port, attracting visitors all year round and is packed with traditional Cornish pubs and independent shops.
Looe Guildhall doubles up as Beyond Paradise’s police station, with other locations used around the town including the harbour and the sandy beach, and Fore Street doubles as Shipton Abbott’s market square.

‘Looe is always one of my favourite locations,’ says actor Dylan Llewellyn. ‘It’s such a lovely spot and the people there are so accommodating, always great sports when we’re filming.”
Other nearby filming locations include Pont Creek, Whitsand Bay, St Germans, the Port Eliot Estate, Werrington Park, Calstock and Fowey, while Buckfastleigh railway station stood in for Shipton Abbott Station.
Part of the team’s investigations take them to a nightclub, with those scenes filmed at Neon Nightclub in Bodmin, Cornwall, although the venue has been renamed Bounce for the drama.

Rame Head also appears in the third series, with the Iron Age cliff castle making a big impression on Kris Marshall.
‘It offers stunning views and has a fascinating abandoned military site, complete with old tanks and artillery steps,’ says Marshall. ‘It’s a great spot for filming and after work you can head down to a secret cove for a swim.’
What is the plot for Beyond Paradise season 3?
The show’s official synopsis promises plenty of cases to keep the team on their toes, including a body found in the river on the county border, a baffling chocolate box poisoning, a historic farming feud, and a spiking incident on the water.
Away from the police station, Martha and Humphrey must tackle unexpected hurdles as foster parents, while Martha’s ex-fiancé and business partner makes a return to Shipton Abbott.
Esther navigates a surprise encounter in her dating life, while her colleague Anne faces a health scare and Kelby goes on a journey of personal growth.
