Glastonbury 2024 is mere hours away. The official map has been revealed, the weather is looking (mostly) great – a musical feast of epic proportions is within touching distance. This year’s fortunate ticketholders will no doubt be putting the final touches to their travel plans.

When it comes to choosing a time to get to Glasto, the best tip, as ever, is to get down as early as possible – thus both avoiding gridlock traffic and making sure you get a good camping pitch.

But how early can you get to Glastonbury 2024? Below we’ve got all the information you need to know, from when you’ll be able to get into a car park to the official time the gates open.

What time do the Glastonbury car parks open?

Glasto car parks open before festival gates, at 9pm on Tuesday June 25. However, you cannot sleep or camp in the car park.

What time do the gates open?

Gates open at 8am on Wednesday June 26.

What’s the best time to arrive for the festival?

We’d advise arriving as early on Wednesday morning (or the night before) as you can. There’s a reason people tend to arrive at Glasto so early – not only do good camping spots get snapped up quick, but traffic jams increase in severity throughout the day on Wednesday.

How is the traffic forecast looking?

Expect major roads in southwest England like the M4, M5, A303 and A39 to be much busier than usual on Wednesday June 26. Expect more delays the later you leave it on Wednesday.

The RAC has warned drivers not to follow sat navs and instead use official event signage.
