Tents have been brought out of attics. Camping chairs are packed and Monday morning escape plans are being devised. Glastonbury 2024 is finally here, and naturally you want to know what you're in for.
Some things, sadly, can’t be meticulously planned. As tragic as it is, none of us can control the weather, and as we live in the United Kingdom it can be pretty changeable. Before we discuss, we have to be clear that forecasts are in no way definite – predictions can change like, well, the weather.
With that said, it has been a sunny few days on this little island, and it's looking like it might actually stay that way over the weekend. (Fingers crossed, touch wood, etc)

The Met Office predicts a weekend of high temperatures and plenty of sun. It looks like today yesterday was by far the warmest day, with highs of 27 degrees, and not much cloud cover to cool off in. The rest of the weekend should be milder, but you'll still need to make sure to stay sun-creamed up, and appropriately hydrated.
It’s set to be a bit cloudy today (Thursday 27), and also Sunday, but there will be pockets of sunshine in the late afternoon of both days. Across the weekend, daytime temperatures should range between 12-20 degrees. Glasto happens to be taking place during a heat wave this year, but fear not – temps won’t be that high. Worthy Farm will avoid the worst of the heat.
Last year Glastonbury punters enjoyed a mix of sunny and cloudy days with minimal rain, so hopefully it will be much the same this year. There have been reports that we could be in for a very rainy summer, but the Met Office also said that those reports were a bit inflated, so it’s all to play for.
For Dua Lipa's set on Friday the sun will have set, but temperatures will be a cool 14 degrees and there's no rain currently expected, so no need to dig out the ponchos for that.
For Coldplay on Saturday it will be much the same, but slightly warmer. Sunday will also be similar – sunny but cloudy – but even warmer.
You can keep up to date with the latest in weather forecasts for Glasto on the Met's website here, or whatever weather app you use. All in all, it's looking pretty positive.
