‘Spoons is for the people. Controversial boss aside, the pints are affordable, the food is reliable and the cocktail pitchers are still a sure-fire way to get warmed up before a night out.

For the last two years though, Wetherspoons has had two things missing: Strongbow and Strongbow Dark Fruits. But Strongbow stans now have reason to celebrate, as the two beverages are returning to the menu.

The two drinks were axed from the chain’s drinks offering in December 2021 and replaced by Stowford Press Apple and Stowford Press Mixed Berries. The switch-up followed Wetherspoons ending its 41-year deal with Heineken International (which owns Strongbow) and signing a partnership with Budweiser.

It’s hoped that the popular ciders will be completely rolled out on draught across all 827 UK Wetherspoons by the end of August. The news follows the announcement that the pub chain is selling even more of its sites in what it called a ‘commercial decision’. So if your local is going under the hammer, at least a pint of Dark Fruits will help soften the blow.

Did you see that even more Wetherspoons pub closures are on the way in the UK?
