Popular pan-Asian restaurant chain Wagamamas has plans to bring its beloved noodles, katsu curries and increasingly innovative plant-based alternatives to ten more locations across the UK.
Wagas’ expansion is thanks to growing consumer demand, after chief exec Thomas Heier called 2023 an ‘exciting year’ for the brand. Apparently sales jumped by over ten percent in the sixth months up to August 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
In the past 12 months Wagamama has launched a variety of Korean-inspired dishes including vegan corn dogs, hot pots and rice bowls.
It opened the first of its new sites today (Monday, February 5) in Bentley Bridge, Wolverhampton. Other outlets that have been confirmed will be in St Enochs in Glasgow, Epsom, Doncaster, Chatham in Kent, and Watford.

Wagamama isn’t the only foodie franchise spreading further across the country this year. Chicken chains Wingstop and Popeyes have both recently announced new UK locations and Haagen-Dazs could be opening 25 UK stores in the near future. Greggs also has its sights set on opening a whopping 160 new outlets in 2024.
