UNIQLO’s conquest of the UK continues. The Japanese retailer renowned for its high-quality, practical, fashionable and affordable clothing is opening its long-awaited Liverpool store next month – and now UNIQLO is expanding its regional footprint with new shops in two of the UK’s biggest cities, Glasgow and Manchester.
Fresh from opening its first Scottish outpost in Edinburgh last year, UNIQLO’s Glasgow store will be in a 1,200-square-metre, three-floor space in St Enoch Centre on Argyle Street. Work on the store began this month, and it’s expected to open in autumn 2025.
UNIQLO UK’s chief operating office Alessandro Dudech said that, after Edinburgh, a Glasgow store is the company’s ‘natural next step’. Here’s a render of what the Glasgow store could look like.

The Birmingham UNIQLO will occupy prime retail space in the city’s legendary Bullring shopping centre. Like Glasgow, it’s set to be a three-floor space and will open in the autumn. When it opens it’ll be Brum’s only UNIQLO – while the city once had access to a branch of the store in nearby Solihull, this closed in the early 2000s.

Once all open by the end of 2025, UNIQLO’s Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham stores will bring the chain’s total number of UK shops up to 23.
