There are many things that make a great airline. Affordability, quality in-flight food, excellent customer service, precious legroom. And the only people who can really decide if an airline ticks all those boxes are the passengers. So, to determine the world’s best airlines, Condé Nast Traveller invited its UK readers to vote for their favourites, as part of the Condé Nast Traveller‘s Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.

The final list of airlines don’t just do the bare minimum, these are the airlines that readers think ‘go above and beyond in every sense’. Air New Zealand was crowned number one, but in the top ten and  doing the nation proud are two UK airlines.

Touching down in fifth place was the our very own British Airways, with a satisfaction score of 86.49 out of 100. Fellow British air service Virgin Atlantic ranked seventh with a score of 85.17. Not bad going, eh? You can see the full list of Condé Nast Travellers’ best airlines here.

Both airlines also soared to success at the ‘Oscars of aviation’ in June, ranking 13th and 17th respectively in the world at the Skytrax Avaition Awards. Both were commended for fantastic service and offering on products onboard.
