In the beginning, there was Glastonbury. Then, in ’98 some people (namely the Bennett family) decided Glasto had become too corporate and decided to make their own festival, and they called it Truck

Truck Festival has been around for over 25 years now, usually serving us with good vibes and the very best in all sorts of music. This year, the Streets, Jamie T, and the Kooks are among the headliners, in what is set to be the biggest year for Truck fest yet.

Headed off to Oxfordshire this year to celebrate getting behind the little man? From stage times to restricted items, here’s everything you could possibly need to know in order to have an excellent weekend.

When is Truck Festival 2024?

This year, Truck is taking place from July 26 until July 28. If you purchased a Thursday upgrade, the fun starts a day early on Thursday 25. Yep, that’s today!

Where is Truck Festival 2024 and how do I get there?

The festival is located in the middle of a field in Steventon, Oxfordshire. That's about as specific as you can get without postcodes or coordinates.

If you're travelling by car, you're sorted. Just put the festival into your favourite map/sat nav service and drive. It’s easily accessible on wheels, but it's worth noting that parking costs £35 if you haven’t booked ahead of time.

If you intend to use other modes of transport, you’ve got a few options. Either you can get a National Express coach service direct from Basingstoke, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Reading, Southampton, Swindon or Winchester, or you can get a train to Didcot Parkway and hop on a shuttle bus which will take you right to the rusty gates of Truck festival.

If you’re still uncertain about your travel plans, the festival’s website has a handy guide which you can read here.

Who are the headliners for Truck fest 2024?

Some pretty big names will be headed to the Oxfordshire farm this weekend. Headliners include Jamie T, the Streets, Wetleg, Idles, and of course, indie veterans the Kooks

Can I still buy tickets for Truck Festival 2024?

The good news: there are some official resale tickets available through the festival. The bad news: they are in high demand and very, very short supply. Head over to the Truck Festival’s resale page, accessible here, to see if you can nab a couple of those coveted weekend passes.

Prohibited items

As usual, a little bit of common sense goes a long way in deducing what is banned. Keep your illegal stuff at home, don’t bring anything that could stab/bludgeon/explode your fellow festival-goers, and assume that this isn’t the place for a bonfire.

However, there are some more slightly random banned items at Truck fest – non-biodegradable glitter, selfie sticks, and golf umbrellas are some of the less obvious among them. Katie Hopkins is also listed as a prohibited item, so if you were planning on bringing her you might have to make other plans.

If you’re unsure about an item, check out this exhaustive guide made by the organisers.

What’s the weather forecast like for Truck Festival?

Surprisingly pleasant! All three main days of the festival are forecast sun at some point, with Saturday and Sunday looking particularly nice. Highs will be between 22C-25C, so make sure to stay hydrated.
