Ahh, the UK. Home to all manner of delights, from Outstanding Areas of Natural Beauty to many, many branches of Greggs. But though you may think you know all there is to know about this fine, fine country, you’re definitely mistaken. A TikTok account has revealed an unexpected ‘hidden gem’ in Scotland, and people are going wild.

Tucked away in the countryside north of Edinburgh is a secret pyramid, and it looks like something straight out of ancient Egypt. The Prince Albert monument sits in the Cairngorms National Park, and was one of 16 cairns built at the Balmoral Estate to commemorate members of the royal family (and yes, this one commemorates Prince Albert). Built in 1861, it’s the biggest of the lot. It’s a pretty heavy-going hike (or cycle) to get up there, but is so worth the schlep.

The TikTok that sent everyone feral set footage of the pyramid against the dramatic soundtrack of ‘Love Tonight’ (the David Guetta remix, obviously), receiving more than 50,000 likes. The caption read: ‘Check out this pyramid in the Scottish hills in the UK.’ One comment read: ‘I lived in Scotland for 40 years, how did I not know about this!’
