There are loads of pros to going on holiday here in the UK. It’s (usually) cheaper, you get to discover more of your own country, and you don’t have to deal with all the faff of air travel. There’s also a lot of places worth visiting in Britain – and that’s shown by Condé Nast Traveller’s recently published list of the world’s best places to visit in 2025.
Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) has just announced its list of the best places to go in 2025, which is made up of 25 destinations across the globe, hand-picked by the magazine’s editors. This year the destinations range from Peru to Kyrgyzstan, but, excitingly, one of their picks is in the south of England. And no, it actually isn’t London. In fact, you probably wouldn’t guess it, which only serves to make it all the more exciting.
According to CNT, Sussex is a must-see for curious adventurers next year. They say it’s worth the trip for ‘cosy new openings and a buzzy creative scene’. Although much of this is owed to Brighton, the beauty of the surrounding countryside and coastline is also mentioned as a factor in this win.
CNT also likes the variety between the east and west of the coast, saying: ‘East Sussex has the salty attitude, of course, with Brighton its seaside star… West Sussex, on the other hand, is a little more artful.’
Sussex isn’t the only part of Britain which has recently been awarded for its tourist offerings in 2025. National Geographic reckons that this chain of islands at the top of Scotland is the essential spot to visit next year, while Lonely Planet is backing East Anglia. If you love to explore, you’ve definitely got some good options for the coming year.
You can have a look at CNT’s full list here, if you’re in the mood for something a bit further afield, or, for a second opinion, check out Time Out’s rankings of the world’s most underrated destinations. Then book yourself a holiday – we know you want to.
