We’ve always arguing about which city in the UK is the absolute bestest. Which one has the best food. Which one has the least miserable people. Who wears the nicest long coats. That sort of thing. But how about which city is the best for a holiday?

Well, readers of Condé Nast Traveller have taken on the challenge, and rated the UK’s cities for the Readers’ Choice Awards 2022. They chose their absolute favourite in categories including nightlife, restaurants and friendliness. And the overall winner? The delectable Cambridge, which gained an impressive score of 85.78.

That’s right, travellers love Cambridge for its winding lanes, old buildings and notoriously good university. It’s also got great little cafés tucked down cobbled streets and some seriously nice walks. What more could you want?

Just behind Cambridge was Glasgow with 84.31, London with 84.07 and Edinburgh with 83.01. These were closely followed by Cardiff, Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast, Bath and Oxford. So if you’re looking for a wintry staycation, that list should give you some cracking ideas.

Whether it’s a short trip or a full-blown holiday, all signs seem to point to Cambridge for the good stuff. And if you need somewhere to stay? Cambridge has some awesome Airbnbs, and you can check them out right here

ICYMI: Sephora is officially coming to the UK.

Plus: this airport has just been named the best in the UK and Ireland.
