Forever fretting over what to order on Uber Eats? If you live on England’s south coast, we’ve got something award-winningly good to try out on the delivery app. This week Uber Eats crowned its best restaurant for 2024, awarding the prize to a Jamaican establishment you can find in Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Southampton.
The restaurant in question is Natty’s Jerk, a family-run Jamaican resto founded by Nathaniel ‘Natty’ Crutchfield in 2017. Natty’s has slowly been climbing the Uber Eats Best Restaurant rankings, having placed third in 2022 and second in 2023.
Natty’s Jerk triumphed against 12 regional finalists, winning £100,000 to invest and grow the business. The Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year award intends to celebrate ‘excellence in cuisine, customer service, and community impact’.
Commenting on Natty’s Jerk’s victory, Natty said: ‘Winning this award is a dream come true, and I couldn’t have done it without my amazing team and, of course, my wife Sam and family by my side.
‘We’ve worked so hard for this, and it’s truly humbling to see our efforts recognised at this level. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the love, the culture, and the community we’ve built. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Natty’s Jerk.’
While Natty’s is order-able on Uber Eats, it’s also available in the IRL. Both the restaurant’s Portsmouth and Bournemouth branches offer eat-in, though the outpost at Southampton’s Utilita Bowl is only open on event and match days.
