Halloween may make October the spookiest month of the year, but it’s also much more than that. With the weather getting a little cosier and the landscapes turning gorgeous shades of red, orange and yellow, there’s loads of wholesome activities you can do that aren’t just creepy ghost tours and horror movie marathons.
The most wholesome of them all? Well, that has to be pumpkin picking. Squash and gourds are in their prime right now and whether you display them as a cute decoration or a delicious ingredient in your autumnal cooking, picking out the perfect pumpkin is serious business.
So, you need to know where you have the best chance of finding your ideal crop. Lucky for you, OutdoorToys analysed entry prices, location, social media popularity and Google search data to determine the very best pumpkin patches and farms in the UK.
Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire was unveiled as the country’s best pumpkin patch, scoring 8.31 out of ten. The gardens here scored particularly high for social media popularity and have 30 different varieties of pumpkin to choose from. Entry is free but pickers have to pay for each pumpkin based on its size.
Doddington beat Tulley’s Farm in West Sussex, which came in second place, and Garsons Farm in Surrey, which landed in third. Here’s the full list:
