Pleasure beaches are bonafide British landmarks. Many of them have been around for over a century and have created priceless childhood memories for countless generations.
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in Norfolk is one such institution. It opened back in 1909 and is home to all the amusement park classics — including a haunted hotel, a monorail, dodgems and an arcade.
Now, GY’s Pleasure Beach is set to provide even more thrills, with three brand spanking new rides on the way. Arriving just in time for the May Bank Holiday is the Ghost Ship, a 32-seater pendulum-type swing ride.
Following shortly after will be the Polar Express, a ‘fast-paced circular ride with carriages that whizz around to music’ and Race-O-Rama, a carousel-style ride offering smaller children ‘a taste of speeding around a track in a race car’.
Excited? Here are some sneak preview pics of the new rides.
