Sometimes it feels like Londoners get everything. They get the functioning transport, the trendy bars, and you may have seen that most of the country’s best pizza restaurants are there. Soon, however, we'll all be treated to a slice of the capital as Pizza Pilgrims, one of the city’s favourite pizza chains, is expanding across the nation.

Of 22 current Pizza Pilgrims locations, only four are outside London. Soon, Edinburgh and Cardiff will join Nottingham, Cambridge, Brighton, and Leeds as the restaurant’s cross-country representation. The Welsh branch is set to open its doors this August, with the Scottish installation following suit by December.

Pizza Pilgrims has come a long way from its humble beginnings selling out of a van in Soho. The chain now sells around 50,000 pizzas a year, with its best seller being the classic margherita. Thom Elliot co-founded the business with his brother James in 2012 after scouring Italy for all its best pizzas.

Between its unique origin story, commitment to sustainability, and dedication to the ‘perfect crust’, Pizza Pilgrims is definitely worth making a pilgrimage to. Lucky for you Scottish and Welsh pizza enthusiasts, the distance you need to travel should soon be significantly smaller. Enjoy the tomatoey-cheesey goodness!
