McDonald’s. Burger King. KFC. If there’s one thing they do right in the States, it’s fast food.

It’s no surprise that most of our popular fast food chains come from across the pond. Maybe we just don’t have it in us to create such greasy goodness the way the Yanks do. If you’ve been craving a brand new joint to try out you’re in luck, because yet another fast-food icon from the US (after Chick-fil-A and Popeyesis about to make their debut on our shores.

Carl’s Jr, which offers an assortment of chicken dishes, has been wanting to enter Britain for a while. Now, it’s partnered up with Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG), which owns multiple large restaurant franchises including the Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Slim Chickens. Together the two companies hope to capitalise on the demand for both grilled and fried chicken in the UK.

There’s no set dates for opening, or even set locations for the restaurants to be in – but all that is only a matter of time. Carl’s Jr, which was originally founded as a hot dog cart in LA all the way back in 1941, has gone on to be one of the biggest restaurant franchises in the US. Across the years, it has also seen international success, with locations in six continents.

We look forward to welcoming you to the UK, Carl’s Jr! If you bring us good chicken burgers and milkshakes we’ll meet you with smiles, adoration, and maybe, if you’re very lucky, Amelia Dimoldenberg on a date.
