Hawksmoor, the ‘darling of the steak scene’ (according to us at Time Out, anyway), has gone up for sale. Don’t worry, the steakhouse chain, which first opened in London in 2006, isn’t going anywhere – but it has apparently hired investment bankers to gauge interest in a deal that could be up to £100 million.

According the the Financial Times, which first broke the news, co-founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott plan to keep their shareholding of the high-end restaurant chain and would continue leading it.

The company has been part-owned owned by some folks called Graphite Capital since 2013. Beckett told the Financial Times: ‘We’ve got a great relationship with Graphite, and together we are getting to know the US investment community in more depth. As that continues, an opportunity may emerge that we wish to explore together.’

Right now, there are 10 Hawksmoor sites across the UK plus three more in Dublin, Chicago and New York. We’re yet to see who will go after the deal, but rest assured, those sirloins, ribeyes and filets will still be around to sink your teeth into.
