If there’s one thing this country boasts plenty of, it’s chicken-based eateries. Armed with Nando’s and many, many fried chicken shops, it’s only natural for Brits to be sceptical of new so-called chicken connoisseurs
But it’s also important to keep an open mind. Dave’s Hot Chicken, one of North America’s best-loved chicken fast food chains, has announced it’ll be landing in the UK in 2025.
Dave’s currently has over 200 locations across North America, so it must be doing something right. The chain, which comes from humble Californian origins, has seen huge success since its inception in 2017. In the past seven years (yes, 2017 was seven years ago), it’s become the fastest growing fast food chain in the US, and served chicken to the people of the USA, Canada, Qatar, and the UAE. And apparently, we’re next.
Dave’s has announced its first UK shop in London will open early next year – and if all goes well it’ll likely expand pretty quickly. The chain has signed a deal for 60 restaurants across the country, so maybe within a couple of years it’ll also be the fastest growing chain this side of the pond. You heard it here first, folks.
According to a spokesperson for the Azzurri group, which is overseeing this chicken-y invasion: ‘When we first tried Dave’s Hot Chicken we were blown away as it makes some of the most craveable and delicious food we’ve ever had.’ High praise.
Hopefully Dave’s lives up to all the hype and more. It’s got some big boots to fill, but hey, we’re open minded and ready to be impressed. One can simply never have too many quality chicken wings.
More brands out to conquer the UK
Dave’s Hot Chicken certainly isn’t the only North American brand aiming to capture the hearts (and cash) of UK consumers. At Time Out we recently covered that Popeyes, Carl’s Jr and Chick-fil-A are all expanding in Britain.
Did you see that a massive new four-day working week trial is coming to the UK?
