If you don’t already know about the downright spectacular food scene in Manchester, get to it. The northern city is awash with stunning street food, fantastic fine dining and criminally good cheap eats. So many delicious options could be overwhelming, but not when you have our experts at Time Out on hand to help. We’ve put together a ranking of Manchester’s finest eateries for 2025, crowning one restaurant the crème de la crème.

Time Out’s absolute best restaurant in Manchester right now is (drumroll please)... Skof! The newly Michelin-starred establishment on Hanover Street only opened in May 2024 but has already made a huge impression.

Kelly Bishop, Time Out Manchester’s local food pundit (who predicted Skof’s star when she visited in July), said: ‘We are endlessly proud of our dining scene but there is nothing quite like Skof in Manchester right now. The service is as smooth as mascarpone, the ever-evolving menu is dreamy, and the dining space is so comfortable while still feeling special.

‘Mancunians can sniff out pretentiousness at 30 yards but this place and its charming staff are the real deal. We already knew Skof was stellar, and it’s such a thrill for Manchester to have another, well-deserved Michelin star.’

As for the rest of the ranking, Where the Light Gets In maintained its 2024 position at number two, while Manchester’s only other Michelin-starred restaurant, Mana, is our new number three.
