The UK has plenty of sites of impressive natural beauty. Annoyingly, it can be difficult to properly enjoy those sites if you, as any sane person would, dislike sleeping on the ground in a tent without access to running water or heating – especially when the option to just, y’know, not do that is readily available.
If you’re not the type to enjoy the ‘challenge’ of camping but still want to get to the countryside, a brand new resort coming to the Peak District just might pique your interest (pun definitely intended).
The 300-acre getaway is called PEAK Gateway Resort and it will give guests the opportunity to stay in cosy holiday huts right on the edge of the Peak District national park. As well as housing a variety of food, drink, and leisure venues, it’ll have everything you need on-site, including gyms and grocery shops. It plans to be a hub for nature lovers and athletic types alike, with access to nearby walking and bike trails and a big focus on wellness.
Even better than being a gateway to the rolling hills of middle England, PEAK Gateway will apparently be 100 percent powered by carbon free energy. All of the energy will be produced on-site from renewable sources, primarily solar, meaning the resort’s carbon footprint will be massively increased. Staying here will be a treat to the planet, as well as to yourself.
If it all sounds too good to be true, there is one catch. Although plans have been approved, building hasn’t yet begun, so we might have to wait a little while to see this thing come to life. If you want to keep up with the most up to date information you can have a look on PEAK Gateway’s website here.
